I was hoping someone would step up and bring this packing
superbness to light. With Pete, you don't only buy the steak, but you buy the SIZZLE. The architectural, engineerical, thingamabobical, creativemanagificable, absolitable, supercalifragilisticexpealidociousable experience one generally doesn't experience in a lifetimeable progressable buying experience of packable stuffable.
I don't not only buy stuff I like to have from Pete ( usually a bike), but also to see how he'll pack it. That's 1/2 the fun!! Pete is an artist and a calligrapher ( no he didn't have the lead role in that 1979 Porno flick Caligula,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caligula_(film) )
along with a creative caring genius. ( is that ok Pete, as we discussed or did I miss something? I know, the checks in the mail, right? U.S. funds please, or P/P F/F. Ha!!)This brown nosing don't come cheap. Ha!!!
I have bought some very special bikes off Pete. The process has always been efficient and pleasant ( sometimes stressful due to the Customs game) and seamless. He always takes the time he needs ( and it's FAST) and constantly keeps in touch. He loves what he does and he's damn good at it.
The most amazing and challenging was a rare Bowden Spacelander. I asked him to flag it loud being fiberglass. Well Canada Customs thought it was radioactive!! That turned into some interesting dialogue on my part ( no fault of Pete's) with Canada Customs on value for taxes and other topics I won't get into. Lets just say the bike was shipped in the usual amazing fashion, in 2 boxes, but Customs decided to keep one for almost a week. I thought I'd only own the front forks/end for awhile. Here is the main frame. I kept pics of the pro packing for awhile, but try to clean up extra pics now and then as I have thousands.
Put on your Ray bans folks!! I think we should declare an International holiday for this guy or rename a day of the week? Mondays suck..... but who wants to be named for that. Fridays rock so why not Peteday instead?
