Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Double Bar Roadster standard 18" seat mast 26" bicycle recently surfaced from the daughter of the original owner from Chicago.
These are quite rare. Overall the bike is super solid, has the original Yale Jr Schwinn key in the straight back 1st year Cyclelock. Has
the wide profile 1 year only fenders for 1936 (same as Motorbike).. Paint is not touched up, fenders are straight,
frame is super nice, no damage... originally had an aftermarket kickstand on board, I mounted a Miller replacement.
Chrome was pretty shot, I polished the rim sides to determine pitting, dings, and chromeability.... excellent
to rechrome, no issues, but no plating either although the hubs survived super shiny chrome. Struts were
brown and rusty and they cleaned up considerably, but again, no chrome, but will plate. Fenders have
not been trimmed, orig flat braces still riveted and nice shape. Early profile Ace badge on board, one
grip is broken, I can send another along. Torrington 10 pedals are rough and not that pretty. On a 10 scale....
hard to guage as it's a very straight and solid bike...maybe a 4-5 on 10 scale due to patina and plating cond.
I added a prewar Persons Majestic saddle restored ...great rider seat, but was pretty rusted before blasted and powdercoated so
there is some pitting on the metal parts, still looks nice enough.
1200.00 as you see her
1000.00 without the restored saddle (no seat)
