Would someone actually spend $5500 for something like that? Someone spent a lot of time and work removing it and then rebuilding it on a plywood wall though. Geeze.

That is a mighty strong price for a not very exciting sign......

Not to mention that the purchase is restricted to only hobbyists who have wives who are blind.
Who has the Space to hang it?

This is the entire store front sign from a 1950s Los Angeles bicycle shop that sold Whizzer motors and Schwinn bicycles. It was saved from demolition after being covered for 50 years behind plaster and meticulously reassembled and clear coated to protect it.

It’s huge! Measuring 19.5 feet wide and 3 feet tall.

Someone will appreciate this sign and have the space for it. I remember going to a bicycle collector's home some years ago and he owned the 2 story home across the street that he had gutted. Within this house it was like being in a huge filing cabinet. There were framed and mounted billboard sized bicycle advertisement signs, posters, etc on rolling tracks so you could pull them out to see them in their entirety and some were nearly 20 feet long and 8-10 foot high. So there are the exceptions in collecting and this is where this sign will probably go.
