Nice Original Bicycle catalog from the Paris Exposition 1900

Size 23.7 x 11.5 cm - 48 pages

This is a 48-page catalog which was produced by the American Bicycle Company consortium for use at the August 1900 Bicycle Exposition held in Paris, France.

Illustrations of bicycles branded with the following names are included in this catalog:

Columbia, Cleveland, Crescent, Monarch, Rambler, Stearns, Tribune, Spalding, Barnes, Sterling, Featherstone, Crawford, Imperial, Hartford, Clipper, Ideal, Pennant, Stormer, Syracuse
-(models described but not illustrated), Meiselbach, Geneva, and Fay.

Page-1, the introduction page stating that the American Bicycle Company was located in New York and had European branches in Paris, London & Germany (Lozier Mfg Co).

Page-3, an illustration of three (3) different chainless (shaft drive) bicycles.

Pages-4 & 5 mentioning the brand names of the bicycle illustrated and/or mentioned within this catalog. The text also offers a strong sales pitch for the bevel-gear chainless (shaft drive) bicycles and indicates that chainless mechanism is far superior to the chain-wheel model bicycles. However the chainless model bicycles were soon discontinued by all of the American factories shortly after 1900.

Pages 6 & 7, with text about: (1) the feature & benefits of the bevel-gear chainless (shaft drive) mechanism, (2) options for wheels, rims & tires, (3) information about mudguards (fenders), plunger brakes, & the Columbia Coaster Brake.

Pages 8 & 9, with illustrations of sections of various types of rims & tires and text about them. Notice the wood rims which accept a clincher type tire & tube.
