I live for the CABE
Here are some rare chains I have for sale.
The Ewart detachable link chain is of the first pattern where the “frame” and “block” are made in one piece and hook together to the next link.
These chains are rusty “as found” but could be sand blasted to clean them up to complete your project.
1st photo shows 4 early riveted solid block and first pattern Ewart detachable link chains.
2nd , 3rd, and 4th photos are of a piece of early 1” pitch block bicycle chain with .412” inside width between the side plates and having figure 8 shaped solid blocks. Perfect for a repair or addition to an existing shorter chain. $20 plus shipping
5th photo is of an Ewart detachable link chain 1 5/8” pitch and .816” width between the open frame portion. 7 links total. $50 plus shipping
6th photo is of an Ewart detachable link chain for bicycle or adult high wheel tricycle chain 1 3/16” pitch and .565” width between the open frame portion. 13 links total. $100 plus shipping
7th and 8th photos are of an Ewart detachable link bicycle chain 15/16” pitch (Columbia proprietary pitch) and .426” width between the open frame portion. 32 links total. This type chain was used on the first Columbia hard tire safety of 1888 called the Veloce. $200 plus shipping
