The Voyageur is 23" (center of BB to top of seat tube). Works out to basically a 56cm top tube. The geometry between the Voyageur II appears very similar vs same sized Super Sport but I think the bottom bracket drop is slightly greater on the SS (?) which draws the chainstays out.

Not currently thinking to sell but we can stay in touch.

I have both bikes now fully disassembled and am carefully cleaning the parts bit by bit. Most are in great shape, one or two things with more serious rust. The quality of these 50 year old components (with likely little or no servicing) are really amazing!

As for the frames, plan is to attempt to selectively touch up both bikes ONLY in areas where there is obvious bare metal/rust in areas under the bottom bracket and lower chainstays. Upper zone of bike is easier to keep an eye on and keep dry, so just wax.

This will test and build my skills, and protect the frame without marring the more visible areas of the bike. This is more an issue on the Super Sport, but the Voyageur does have a kickstand rash that I think needs tending to.

I ordered the Aluminum Basecoat / Grey Ghost and the Kool Lemon touchup paints from KoolestKolors. The Aluminum appears to match the Silver used on the Voyageur exactly, but will confirm this "non destructively" before trying any of the above.

Pix coming soon.

So...OK. I went into to this armed with the insight above, but still wanting to give a try to touching up only a few of the downward facing chips on the Voyageur II.

Here is the before and after.

The learning is "trust the CABE". It is, as said above, NOT easy to do this and have it look Ok. Not the greatest outcome, although probably good protection for a part of the frame that will see some action

Rest of the bike will be left alone, just polish and wax, as the undercoat is chrome.

I thought I'dd give an update on the Silver Mist Voyaguer II . Full tear down and rebuild is done.

I did try touchups on the bottom of the chainstay and downtube as above. NOT easy. So given this "fair-ish"outcome, for the rest of the bike I did indeed chose to leave the chips alone. Polish and a few coats of wax on the rest of the bike and calling it good. Here she is for test rides just before putting on the bar tape.

This is a GREAT riding bike by the way. Fast, smooth, comfortable. Love it.

You better move your arse before you get a BIG bad parking ticket . Nice bike.

Thx! Bar tape and seat are temporary so I can ride the nike a bit while I kinda figure out how best to optimize the bike. Eg silver fenders? Brooks saddle and leather bar tape? Figure its best to discover the essence of the bike... which by the way is 26lbs even as pictured here.
