My Whizzer rider is powder coated because of no scratches in thirty years of use. Gas and oil are not kind to todays paint. No two tones are possible but pin striping stays on. Cleanup after a ride is easier. Old powder jobs had a bumpy, (like an orange) look. Hotter ovens and more experience helped. Powdered coats can be done without clear coat. No gas can spill on a clear coat. Chrome can be powdered. It is like a coat of plastic on a bike. Change your mind? You can't take it off easily.
