Part of a musselman 2 speed suicide shifter?

Keen to hear your thoughts.

Is the rear bracket on this Elgin part of a musselman 2 speed?? Or a leftover bracket from something else??

Rear hub appears to a standard (non 2 speed) hub. But I have been left intrigued!

Yes indeed.
Probably, the modification to the chainguard, was the only reason it was left on there after the rest of the kit was removed.
Nice remnant of what once was a Musselman two speed jockey shift.
