Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
I restored this bike in the late 1990s... Original parts were used for the build and an "E" serial rear drop out stamp
1952 Phantom project was the carcass brought back from the dead. Build included original Fenders, tank, locking
fork with Arnold, Schwinn & Co cycle lock / key, Nice Schwinn Expander front brake, restored original leather saddle.
100% restore of paint (single stage automotive Acryl enamel), Chrome, Nickel and Cad plating on ALL parts as original.
Reproduction battery holder used for the headlight and the now hard to find Coker authorized Schwinn WW Typhoon
tires that had a decent look, more like real rubber than the Repop anniversary plastic looking ones available today.
Comes with the front brake cable (also a reproduction) not shown. Pedals were also fully restored nice originals
with the reproduction pedal rubber blocks as NOS are impossible to find/non existent. Bike has held up well for
roughly 25 years in a damp climate storage...some minor very minor peppering on the fenders, most of the the
bright work on this bike looks very good. Original Delta USA taillight on the 4 hole rack.
A nice NICE bike that is not mint / fresh restore...but very close as a considerable amount of time has passed
since completion.
2600.00 plus the ride.
