The hub in my 57 phantom has absolutely no markings other than what's on the brake arm. I disassembled the entire rear wheel assy for cleaning and found no indication of any stampings, inscriptions at all. The internal parts are identical to an RB hub I had laying around. Thanks for the info.
Its the same hub as I described above and they are identical to the RB except mine has brass shoes, does yours? I've seen them like yours,no markings....Heres a great link to all of their hubs.......BTW Very nice Phantom, Beautiful job http://www.trfindley.com/pgbndxhbs.html
Yes, the shoes are brass. Seems to be many variations with these hubs or parts may have been swapped around over the years. Thanks for the info on the hub link
The Bendix RB2 was first released in the summer of 1963, the Red Band (single stripe), aka RB, was released in April 1961 and produced through May 1963, prior to that it was just a Bendix hub.
The original Bendix brake was manufactured from 1946 to 1961, aside from minor cosmetic changes, it was the same on the inside and the part are interchangeable with all of the early hubs.
This one is from 47-49, aside from the brake arm marking, it has no markings on the hub itself.
