Phantom Tail Light issues

When I put batteries in the tail light, it will not turn off. The switch only makes contact with a nut and bolt on the mount. Not sure how it is supposed to turn off. I think there has to be something missing.

Hard to tell the problem on pics, but you might want to try to insert batteries on backwards not de way the battery holder shows, sometimes will work like that

The light turns on just fine. I just can’t get it to turn off.

No electrician, but I think the screw that’s replaced the terminal needs to be insulated (isolated?) like the factory terminal.
