Finally riding a big boys bike
A big thank you to Richie, Tony and Shane for their efforts on continuing to make the show a success and especially the passion they have for vintage bicycles and the community of collectors that truly make the hobby fun.
We had some great bicycles show up for the event...one a real show stopper from South Carolina, that being Frank's Elgin Robin...The pictures speak for themselves.
Also a big shout out to all who truly make the event fun. We had collectors from numerous communities in North Carolina show up as as well as Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee. The weather was supposed to be iffy, but it turned out to be a very nice day.
Enjoy the pictures from these next few posts.
Thanks
Steve K.

Looks like things went pretty well. So what kind of attendance was there? I'm thinking of doing this one later this year but its a five hour, one way, ride for me. V/r Shawn

A BIG thanks to all those who attended!

Attendance was off from past shows. I think due to so many graduations, weddings 5 days of rain before and pending rain the day of the show (it didn't rain!). We have a rather large email list now from the past events so I'm sure there is potential for much larger shows in the future.
I'm thinking we may consolidate this show with our cabin fever swap meet and have it sometime in early March. I think everyone attending this show had a good time. They either found something they needed or sold something they didn't.
We would appreciate any ideas / input anyone has that could improve this event.

Richie,

I am only speaking for myself here, but if you could get down to one NC show a year, it would be better attended.

This Spring show comes just a couple of weeks after the MLC show and my inventory was all but gone (I sold 5 bicycles and 2 nearly complete bicycle projects) coming home with an empty van.
Additionally, the week before MLC was Copake, so essentially 3 weekends away from home so close together is a challenge, but in all honesty, we had my folks in from out of town for our baby twin's baptism as I had mentioned or I would have come anyway.

Maybe March is a good call since you have access to a great inside space or the Fall to only compete with Trexlertown, PA and allowing enough time to build up inventory from the Spring "can't miss" events.

Both times I came to the NC swaps/show I have had a great time, buying, selling, and talking and I want to support you crew's efforts, but is easier to come when I have stuff and not clustering the event from an already difficult time away from home sell to the Mrs.

Looks like some nice bicycles were there and thanks for the pics!

Chris

I agree with Chris,
There is just way too much going on in the spring/early summer. A fall show in this region would be better for me as well. V/r Shawn
