I forgot to mention that it has the Torrington T stamp ... just wondering what ERA this is from and if it original to DX pictured . Would it add some value to have it being used on my DX
Thanks everyone and stay safe
Bob

I've never seen one of that type. What is it made of? I don't see any rust, and the finish sure doesn't look like chrome. It almost looks like zinc, which is used a lot for die-casting, but I don't see any mold seams.

That's a Torrington aluminum stem. The other style, with the deco casting, is more recognizable, but this one was available too. It would not have been factory on a Schwinn, but it was a period accessory.

Thank you gentlemen
I believe it is alluminum
Im choosing to get correct stem fir this DX
I guess i throw this stem in parts bin
Thank you for your info
Bob
