Pre 1933? Surprisingly, no. La Torpille.

Mercian

I live for the CABE
Hi All,

So, I found these a couple of weeks ago, but have hesitated posting them here on the site since they are modern builds of early bicycle designs; If this is the wrong place, feel free to move or delete, I won't be offended.

I was looking for a local (to me in Annecy, France), modern bike maker to produce some composite parts, when I was surprised to find the sites below for La Torpiile.

http://t-cycles.com/

http://www.weelz.fr/fr/cycles-la-torpille-velo-vintage-artisanal-annecy/

The sites are in French, but the pictures should be explanatory. If you'd like (some) of it translating, let me know.

I've not seen any of these in the flesh, and imagine that they are expensive, being hand built; I wondered if the skills they have could be used to make replacement parts for early bikes if these were unobtainable?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these modern classics.

Best Regards,

Adrian

Thanks for sharing that Adrian, it was nice to see. They do look very expensive. I agree with you on the parts question. It would be nice to be able to buy a spoon brake assembly from them as soo many of our toc Ladies bikes are missing theirs. They need a better website though, as it doesn't provide much info at present.
