Pre-war hiawatha?

I picked up this bike from a guy I was working for today. It was his bike when he was a kid and it was given to him by his uncle. I'm planning on restoring it and would like to know exactly what it is before I start. I tried finding a serial but I couldn't find one. Any help on what this is would be extremely helpful.

Not sure what you got there, a real mix of parts, post war Gambles dept store badge ( riveted so probably og ) later rims ( Bendix hub ), mid-late 50’s seat ( Schwinn? ) & neck, CWC/Roadmaster sprocket, aftermarket guard and not sure about frame, way thinking Snyder frame but can’t see the frame joints at the crank maybe covered with rust/dirt?, ser #’s should be bottom of crank but who knows?, good luck.

Looks kind of like a 1940’s Huffman and the chain tensioners with the square nut seems to hint toward Huffman; (don’t believe that that detail was acquired from Monark?).
