pre war montgomery wards mens alluminum bike year & correct name

my latest barn find , what is the correct name & year please ser# 37656 under the frame , 24" new departure drop center wheels , hawthorne badge , bought from original owner , says its all original fenders , front lite , not sure about the rear rack , should it have had a chain guard? (NOT FOR SALE AT THIS TIME)

Congrats on a SWEET ORIGINAL!

Looks pretty complete except missing the battery tube... rare.

I would say it's a 1937 model but that Delta Silver Ray you have is usually shown on earlier models (35-36)

Are the handlebars aluminum? If so, I've never seen that style in aluminum so they would be very rare if so.

the handle bar is alluminum , where does the battery tube go? i was told the silver ray lite is original , has hole in handle bar for front lite wire .

I just found a set of aluminum handel bars like that for my SK also. Nice looking bike you have there. Parts are kinda hard to find and an be very expensive. Good thing your bike is mostly complete. I've been trying to find a drop stand and aset of 24" Stainless steel fenders for well over a year now with no luck. The battery canister is also aluminum and can be found but there again kinda expinsive. Some of them did have chain gaurds, some didn't . I guess it's reall your preference. Not all of the had rear aluminum racks also.
