Pre war Shelby???

Recently uncrusted this bike, the guy that traded me for the bike said it was a Shelby. Has D2443 stamped under the bottom bracket.

Has a locking fork. Schwinn/Shelby markings similar the the Phantom or prewar Shelby paint.

Stem ,seat and bars not original parts, needs original bars, seat and badge.

i've never seen a Shelby with a lock like that. fork could be though. and frame doesn't scream Shelby to me. need close-ups of rear forks and seat stay area. just my opinion.

Kickstand3 you nailed it.

The Shelby lower top tube was welded closer to the top tube at the seat tube.

Wow, finding a Zephyr tank will be a major project!!!

Probably a factory weld
Manton & Smith they gas weld their frames , their frames are awesome have fun with it
