I purchased a schwinn and has P9638 under the crank any ideas on date? Never have see a P before.

I think this would be a '36. It's the successor to the '33-35 B-3 frame but before the hanging tank frame. Or maybe it was sold alongside the deluxe tank frame but a low model since it has no frills. Crank may be stamped with the date and boy if that's original paint, that's spectacular. Nice find.

bike appears to be original except for the grips and brake arm clamp. anybody see anything wrong on the bike? not normally into girls bikes but just could not pass this up it was so nice. thanks for the help

Yeah, you did good. It all looks legit to me. The prewar black/red combo is awesome. Not many examples on a lady either.
