Here we have a very nice original 1940 Schwinn Excelsior DX in a rather uncommon color.
Just as I bought it 10 years ago, this bike has not been cleaned or messed with. Outstanding bright original paint, with normal scuffs and dings for its age. Original fenders, Original solid tank, Original brass button Delta tank horn (which works !) Some old silver paint on drop centers, and truss rods, I believe . . this is how I got it. Nice Morrow rear (J-3). Nice original incorrect fender light (untested). Beautiful original weathered, but supple Mesinger leather slider saddle. Huge 30” Torringtons with strong nickel plating, oval Schwinn script grips, AS pedals, Carlisle Lighting Darts, etc. Nice original Excelsior badge with Excelsior script on the down tube.
The color on this bike just Glows !! You’ll wait a long time to see another in this color and condition.
