Got this early Locking truss fork set.. Was painted green and it looked like maybe black underneath. Started to strip off the green and ran into tan.. Thought it might be primer until the pin stips showed up.. Was this color just used on the Rangers? What year or range was this style used? Is this a men’s or ladies or were they both the same? Thank you
LOOKS LIKE A TYPICAL BOYS PREWAR LOCKING FORK. 6 1/4 TO 6 /38 INCH STEER TUBE/
CAN'T BE SURE THOSE T RODS ARE FOR LOCKING OR NON LOCKING FORK! 3/8 INCH DIFF.
Could be chrome underneath the rust. Most of the Rangers were painted Ranger Brown. Some folks thought that was the only color you could get and never inquired about other colors. It was a mail order bicycle and could be ordered in other colors,, although seldom seen. Also remember these bikes are 80 some years old, things do get changed. The black one below is a 36.
