Please if you don't mind, can you (or anyone else) describe what the significant difference is in a prewar springer vs a postwar springer?
 
Prewar headtube on boys frames are slightly shorter therefore take shorter steer tubes and shorter upper fork legs.
 
the top of the fork legs have much more curve above the pivot bolt,the bottom of the legs dont have the rectangular slots,at the bottom of the legs there are holes to mount the axle instead of one slot and one hole,the bigger curve at the top prolly matches the fork tube,i think!!!! nothing is written in stone,bikes have a lot of generalities
