Wore out three sets of tires already!
PREWAR SCHWINN Chubby Schwinn script oval black grips
For sale here is a very decent pair of early Schwinn script “chubby” grips, from what I can tell these are quite scarce and were used on the B6 and others in 1940-41 only.
These grips are in remarkable condition with a very smooth surface finish. They are only a tiny bit flexible, having gotten pretty hard. I took them off of a bike in the ’80’s and they have been in a parts drawer ever since. They were hard then. They are very comfortable to hold and are not mis-shaped at all, 100% functional. They will slide right on and last another several generations. Not brittle, not chunked out with zero splits or material loss. These would be right at home on a well-preserved or restored bike.
