Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
I'm offering this Prewar Snyder built Fastback for sale in "as found, freshly garbage picked" condition. This bike has a lot of potential.
Some observations:
Paint looks all original.
No badge but has Rollfast decal on rear fender. Someone said it may have had a Peerless bagde.
I thought at first that the wheels were a matched set, and color wise they do match, but upon closer inspection I see they are both drop centers, but have different profiles (see pics)
The handlebars are very wide, with a fat, bolt on cross brace that looks to be the same diameter as the bars.
Has a Stewart Warner Clipper speedo. It's missing the cable. I can't see through the lens.
Nice Davis Deluxe whitewall on the rear, still soft and looks to be in good condition. Front tire is shot.
Torrington 8 pedals, skip tooth chain, flat fender braces, lucky 7 post, seat is missing,
New Departure rear hub, not sure what kind of front hub. Front axle nuts are missing.
I do not see any weld repairs anywhere.
Fenders are very straight, with the exception of a few minor dings and the very bottom edge of the front fender is bent (see pics)
