prewarmachine

Wore out three sets of tires already!
Just received a new prewar project. LaSalle badged. Maybe a model BC? Noticed the open steer tube bottom on this Springer fork. Anyone know if that was a particular year or model or anything about why it's like this? Last photo is a prewar girl's bike with the rounded bottom I'm used to seeing. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Might have just found the answer. Locking vs. non-locking

Rounded bottom pic you show is a locking fork, you have a non locker. The profile on the non locker prewar forks
was pretty 'sharp' like yours shows... post war the non lockers got a bit more "roundy" in the profile.

Looks like a C model frame from the pix and a 1938/9 ...lets throw some old parts together Chicyco

odd model... neat project.
Restore it to museum quality for us.
