Question: Best way to ship a bike?

I am the original owner of a '84 Schwinn Sierra, Blue with 21" frame. Everything is original on the bike except handle bar and pedals. The bikes in good shape and I might want to sell it.

Is there a preferred way to ship a bike across country?

PS I am new guy on this forum so if I violate any rules ..... "Zorry 'bout dat".
