Can we get some pics of the entire bike please? Nice detail shots but I can't get a feel for the look of the bike. Thank you

Are those plastic fenders? Might be early 60's. I got a new Schwinn Continentalin1961. Had plastic fenders and one of those "suicide" front shifters.

love the Heron heads on the chainwheel!

This was mine from about 12 years ago. I think it was a '57. It was an 8 speed Benelux 4 in the back and the suicide lever double up front.

Congrats on your find! I believe MN Schwinn is right, a 57/58. I have three and they are all 59/60. Never seen one with that early decal scheme sell in the states. Please post a pic of the whole bike. Looks very complete and original to me. I have done quite a bit of research and will be glad to help if I can. The fact the fenders are there is also awesome. Those usually get broken or taken off over time. The rear derailleur should be a Benelux like the front.

Amazing condition and originality. To my eye the rear derailleur, wheel, and hub looks like the only non original parts. On mine the rear Benelux derailleur was also broken. Sometimes when those came apart they would get into the rear wheel and create more damage causing that to need to be replaced. I don’t believe many were sold with that early decal scheme in the states. Thanks for the extra pic again and again congrats! Also there was some argument on whether the 730 brakes were original on these, but most believe that at least those shipped to the states did get those.
