Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
I’m selling two Raleigh bikes. One complete 1957. The other is missing the handle bars and brakes. I’m also selling a Robin that has those parts. If you wanted to I guess you could harvest them for the 1953 bike.

The complete 1957 went today. The 1953 is available, but it needs brakes and handle bars. Perhaps you could buy the Robin Hood and use the parts to complete the ‘53. It wouldn’t be all original, but you'd have an enclosed chain. Let me know if this is of interest to you.

Billy,
I sold the bike for a song. I sold it to a gentleman who buys and sells bikes. He bought a number of bikes. This bike was sold for only $250. However, I was told it was worth $500 and I saw one on eBay going for $1500, but not as nice. Both bikes, mine and eBay had the”patina”. I hope this helps. Jungleterry on this site might be able to help. I get the idea that anyone who buys an$ sells won’t be able to give a good price sinc3 they need to make money as they are operating a business for profit. Matybe it is just a hobby with income, but they still want to justify expenses. It appears that there is a demand for such a bike and if you are willing to wait for the right person you will get top dollar. If you do ebay you reach a wide audience, but eBay has its quirks too. Sellers must be careful. Also expect to ship bikes. Some bike stores will do it for you. There are also services that sell you a box and if I remember they help ship it.
One thing I learned, the quicker the sale the lower the price.
Best regards.

Thanks so much I got it cheap and still like it but I’ve bought a few bikes since then and I have to sell a few to keep the wife happy I just had a problem with a screwdriver set I sold on eBay there is nothing wrong with it but the guy is saying they r worn out but they aren’t and I listed it as is so I think I’m safe but eBay always sides with the buyer so we will see if he would have been nicer I would have just gave him his money back

The old saying buyer beware was coined before the advent of eBay. I’ve had some good and bad experiences on eBay. Not to be too negative, but I’ve learned to protect yourself from the worst. There are those who are impossible to please.
