'Lil Knee Scuffer
1949 1/2 Columbia 5 Star Superb Very unique and complete survivor. I doubt you’ll find a more rare mid-century Columbia in this condition. The National Bicycle History Archive of America stated this is a rare mid-year model not featured in any catalog. The coffin style tank is a beautiful, very rare half chrome half blue painted and in incredible shape with nice graphics and no rust. Tank interior is very clean, horn doesn’t work but original wiring and button appear are in excellent shape. The handlebars are original with the coveted curved crossbar, with correct original grips. The winged headlight is original, paint is peeling per photos. The front hub is the original Sturmey Archer drum brake, with the original fabric covered cable housing. It works but could use fine tuning. The frame had work done at the BB and downtube. New Departure Model D rear hub. The locking springer fork is missing the key. The original saddle has been recovered. The rear carrier and taillight are reproductions, but accurate. 26 inch Duro whitewall balloon tires. The headlight works but no guarantee. Please consult photos for details. Bicycle will be professionally boxed with free shipping to the lower 48 Continental United States.
