Rare Phantom Stools?

I ask this out of complete ignorance, but were there really only 100 of these stools made? If so, I wish I bought a couple back in the day when these first came out.

I’m not sure how many of those were made but think they are only actually worth $500 a piece

$500 a piece (or a little bit less) is about what I remember they were going for.... That makes a whole lot better sense, and I actually considered buying one of these a while back. Maybe the guy just misplaced the decimal?
