I want to remove the crank in my 73 Schwinn Continental to service it. Which way does the lock nut loosen on the left side of the frame? I assume clockwise but want to check first before starting. Thanks!

Hey thanks for the service manual link! It’s clockwise and very easy to take apart. The bearings were almost dry but surprisingly look very good after soaking in kerosene with no scratches, just smooth shiny metal.
