If it’s easy to remove the cog I’d go that route. If it won’t come free then sliding out that drive unit is your best bet like others have said. Gl Chad!
 
One spoke? Ha! My ‘64 Firestone needed a full wheel rebuild because someone jacked up the hub and chain. All the spokes behind the sprocket where chewed up. Half the spokes on the rim got replaced, and he entire wheel was re-trued and the hub properly rebuilt.

The up side? I had a ‘72 Firestone in the boneyard, so even after all that, it was still an original wheel.
 
A few ways to do it.I loosen the tension on the surrounding spokes and a little bending.
