Cranky Chain Cycles
Finally riding a big boys bike
The red Jet Rider, a 1960 tank bike, is the perfect example of a high-end restoration. No corners were cut. Everything works. The blue 1954 Campus Queen was also fully restored.
Some bikes are like timeless pieces of art. Some will say this without any substance, whereas I've entered the Jet Rider in several competitions where it tied for first place at the annual Minnesota Antique & Classic Bicycle Club's competition. I guarantee you won't find another bike like these tooling around the lakes. They've been ridden once and now live the good life in climate control.
Each frame was chemically stripped and acid dipped––oxalic acid for those familiar with the process. 8 coats of paint give it the show-ready look. Sanded and hand polished. Working headlights and taillights. New tires. The Jet Rider has 100% new chrome plating. New seat and headlight. Each bike sports a single-speed coaster brake. All new decals from Crawford's Decals.
We'd prefer to sell the bikes as a pair.
$3,000 for both. Obo.
Serious collectors and vintage enthusiasts only.
Will not separate.
Priced accordingly to prevent parting out.
The restoration was performed by Cranky Chain Cycles, a group of hobbyists with a passion for cycling and over 25 years of experience.
No returns
Sold as-is.
