I've always been curious about that chainring...if it were standard equipment or after market?

I used it a few years ago on a rat rod build.

BTW I need to find that rear sprocket for my Merkel... these chainrings are D&J

So it would be safe to say that pre 1919 was Hudson archbar only? Post 1919 they became Miami archbar or there about. Using a D&J chainring on the Hudson and Miami ring on the later Miami.

Looks similar to Musselman

The large Miami "clover" chainrings were D&J (owned by Miami) the spider has a distinctive cross pattern.

Perhaps the bike is a Pope "Defiance" archbar with a Pope "Special" chainring?

I need one of these cogs for my Musselman. Need a 12 tooth. Re-pop is fine.
