Rotary-Shift 3-Spd Hubs

Hey all,

Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but has anyone here used one of SA's rotary-shift hubs? Specifically, do these hubs specifically require the 'rotary hub shifters' offered by SA? It may be a stupid question, but I haven't been able to find a definite difference between the standard shifter and rotary shifter (although I'd assume its the cable-pull distance between the gears).
