The same thing is happening with classic cars my husband deals with. He’s getting ready to purchase a 1940 Plymouth and there are definite small areas of improvement. Nowadays it’s best to leave it preserved original or a total restoration which would cost more than the value but they are beautiful! He said car collectors say that choosing either way is better than leaving one in a field to rust out which values no one.

Too many incorrectly use the word "restoration".Just because someone paints and puts shiny new incorrect parts does not make it a restoration. A restoration is when it is just as it left the factory with correct parts decals paint, etc. This usually always costs more to actually restore than a bike is worth.

What color do you plan to spray paint it? I recommend 1 color (as to not have too-many); reds and blues are both good.
The sand blasting probably saved you a lot of work (90% is the preparation work); perhaps flip the bike and complete the remaining areas if the Dodge truck bed needs any more blasting.
Like another said, avoid that expensive chrome paint; I use Rust-Oleum's Antique pewter (kind of metallic gray), and for that 'antique' restored look.

Thank you, I plan to paint it with thin coat of blue that is close to the original color and keep some of the original color for the future if needed.

Violet
