The truss rods for a boys bike are shorter than for the girls. The headtubes are different lengths just in case you weren't aware. I've been down this road several times, as the girls bikes ALL use the same length headtube/steering tube length - It is the same as a 26" on both the 20 and 24 inch models. The boys headtube is about an inch shorter so the truss rods are shorter as well.
