Schwinn and Peaked Fenders??

A little input please!!
I recently acquired this C model, guessing 36-38, (not picked up yet). Being a resto, and the party using some reconditioned, and repop parts, I just assumed that the wrong fenders were used. Recently I was told by a friend whom I respect his knowledge on Schwinns, that they did use some PEAKED fenders then. Any info on this subject would be really helpful Thanks.

Peaked fenders to my knowledge were an option. And because not many examples exist today....it might have been a rare option.

Those do not look like the gothic fenders used on Prewar Schwinns.
