Schwinn Brake Lever question

Hello Schwinn experts! Here are pics of two Schwinn script brake levers. Both are said to be original. Although they both have the "Schwinn" script, they are different. Why they are different? Which one would more likely have been on an early 50s front drum brake Phantom?

Looks like the mounting hardware and base of the bottom one was changed out, probably with parts from a English brake lever. I have several English levers that have parts that look just like those used on the second brake lever.

Both Schwinn levers I have and others I HAVE had, look like the top one. That one would be correct for your application.

The first one is correct for your Phantom. The second appears to be a mix of parts.
