The first job I had was at a Schwinn dealer in the late 70's & early 80's in Southern California, so I have built, and seen my fair share of Cruisers.

So what is the serial number, and the date code on the head badge?

Yep, the badge confirms the bike as an 83 as I stated earlier, and it was one of the last of the Chicago built bikes!

Anyhow, glad you sold the bike.

Pretty easy.............the Cruiser 5's say "Cruiser 5" on the chain guard...............LOL

But it is the wrong parts that give it away also. It has the wrong shifter, derailleur, chainring, and chain guard.

I've never seen a chain guard that says Cruiser 5 on it!

I looked through a few pictures and didn't see anything that said Cruiser 5 on it I seen some that said Schwinn Cruiser 5
