Schwinn DX ***M Y S T E R Y*** ID

I picked up this nice rider Schwinn DX yesterday. It's been pieced back together I believe with a Hornet chainguard, fenders, and wheelset. No badge to ID. Serial # 177205 Any guesses on the maker? It's a keeper regardless and I'd love to replace the headbadge if not too difficult.

Maker is Schwinn, how it was originally badged you may never know. I'd find a badge you like and put it on.

A lot of Schwinn brand badges had that same shape-Ace, Packard, Electric and probably a hundred more.

But that is the common shield profile, which was used for literally hundreds of local store brands also. As Shaw said, we may never know.

Sorry guys, Im mainly a bmx and muscle bike guy who dabbles in middleweights. Prewar and balloon tire stuff is a little foggy to me.

I'd say 47ish if the kickstand isn't tapered and the upper fender bridge is half round and not fully tubular.
