I have to sell my baby! Oh so sad. A car accident jacked up my neck and head and I cannot ride this sweet bike for long due to the forward position. I want to cry thinking of parting with the most balanced and sweetest ride I have, but time to move onto something like a cruiser. No more wild and crazies for me now. I have kept it clean, tuned and repaired. It does however have a new and very nice derailer since my nephew lied to me that he was going to fix it and stole the original one off the bike instead. Jokes on him, it rides even nicer now. It has recently been tuned and has brand new tires. I have only ridden it a week in the AZ desert since then, cleaned it up and stored it.
I'm pretty sure it's a 1986 and I'm not sure but think it is the smallest size frame to keep your center of gravity low for cornering fast. If you are serious about buying, I will go out to the shed and measure it for you. The seat post goes very high so adjusts to all sizes as well as forward, back, and tilt. My purchase documents and book are in storage in MN I cannot access them right now. The bike is here with me in SoCal just outside of San Diego. I did however cut the handlebars down 2" per side because it over steered and caught on the bushes and trees on the trails. Now it is perfect! At one time I used toe clips with it. So if you're into that kind of thing, they are easily added to the pedals. Everything is adjustable except adding height to the handle bars. So my options are modifying the handle bars custom style and keep my amazing bike, or sell it to someone who loves it as much as me so I can buy something more suited to lollygag around in the desert.
I did research last year and the pricing for this sweet thing was $500 to $600. I am open to a fair price. Let's talk if you love and appreciate this bicycle as much as me. What a great holiday gift to give yourself. Otherwise I am happy modifying it and keeping it forever. I would like to be able to replace it with something as nice but fits my needs better so no crappy offers please. I am mobile and do go east to AZ, will be by Quarzsite in January. I travel to El Centro and Yuma regularly.
