Okay, Schwinn experts, hard to make out serial number, looks like C84274.....locking springer,sweetheart sprocket, double knurl S-2's,seat and fenders don't appear to be original, any ideas?

'52-53 Panther would be my guess.

Update, the wheels appear to be original S-2, the front hub is scripted Schwinn and the rear is a Bendix, that sound right?

Looks like the frame was painted? And the springer paint isn't the same color? I don't think there is enough there to really pin point what it started out as.

Yea, could have been a Panther or Deluxe Hornet. Fenders belonged to neither. No paint scheme to go by either. Regardless of what it started out as, they're always a great rider.
