photo is not mine, belongs to Dave's Vintage Bicycle, question on the hanging tank, what was the last year of this style of tank used, and would it fit other schwinn frames produced in later years? year of bike in photo is 1936

If I rememnber correctly, 1941 was the last year.

Early version 36-37 with switch, wire hole, 4D battery holder
38+ - no switch or wire holes, but with push button horn unit
And another version with no holes or horn unit

with schwinn keeping this style of frame, then one can assume that if 41 was last year for this tank that it also could be fitted up until 48, on some others, maybe?

Hmmm. The C model frame is a unique design and not manufactured after the war. You can’t fit any other style of schwinn tank in a C mod frame. Also, the C model disappears from the catalog as an equipped model in 38, and pretty much altogether from the catalogs after that. They kept going though on rebadged schwinns mostly through 41 as stated with a different spec (push button tank, torpedo light, 9 hole carrier) or unequipped.

thanks for your experience in this matter, could it be reversed where the horn tank would fit later models due to size variance in being smaller?
