I believe this is a prewar rack ? , missing a set of legs. this is was on a real crusty hawthorne I picked up. my question is it prewar, and is it worth much missing a set of braces. if it's not worth much ill just leave it on the hawthorne...thanks for any input or info

Give it the Dollar bill test, and you’ll know for sure.

What’s the Dollar bill test you ask?

Why, that’s where you hold a Dollar bill end to the end/head of the rack.
If the rack end is only as wide as the inside edge of the white border on the Dollar bill, then, it’s a prewar rack.
If it’s as wide as the outside edge of the Dollar bill, then, it’s a postwar rack.

That test is what i use and it works. Heard it from Marty a while back..
