Schwinn Speedometer

I just received this in the mail.I want to install it on my sons 20" bike.I am not sure if it is missing a part for the attachment or not.
LMK how it is installed on the rim.

I think there should be a piece on the other side of the round part that is sort of a "U" shape. That "U" shaped piece goes between the spokes down near the hub and turns with the wheel to run the speedo.
