Look Ma, No Hands!
Hello everyone, been a while since I last been on here been so busy but now making time. Here is the final stage of my custom build from last year Christmas day local purchase. It was a good start but didn't look like this as I changed a lot of parts to genuine Schwinn but kept some aftermarket parts such as the rear Wald full fender for now. The seat is a Troxel and I added a NOS Troxel rear reflector. I do have a mint rear Stingray fender as I might change later in time but for now just going back to my teenage roots when I built a lowrider bike for fun as my friends had. Back then there was no re-issue springers it was the real deal. My bike of the past later 70's is long gone but I still have today the springer 20" I paid $10.00 back in early 1977. The seller painted this bike with Fusion high gloss "Hot Pepper". Not bad but I buffed it out. Missing was the chain guard which I used an NOS 1975 Schwinn accessory guard and painted it "Krate" style and same Schwinn used on the 1977 Fastback guard. The bike already had the genuine 20" springer that triggered me when I saw the ad just minuets posted. I paid $300 for the bike. Here is a before and after photos. I added some accessories and changed the "S" bolts to "AS" bolts. Springer was in nice condition as I cleaned and polished it with Simichrome polish. It also features a 2-speed kick back I added laced to a center stamp S-2 wheel as it originally had a 1998 coaster shimano wheel I saved. The front is an S-7 it had already. I added a NOS re-issue Krate fender bought on eBay as well as some other parts. The hardware and pedals and ball light thanks to John Hauger.

I live for the CABE
Nice! Great score on the bones, that springer is worth well more than $300 on its own!
