Schwinn Typhoon...Boy's 20''...Just Bought It...

HARPO

Cruisin' on my Bluebird
Another Craigslist purchase.

And this one belonged to the original owner who told me he got it new when he was very young (he's 57 now). He kept it, and his kids used it, and it was time to let it go. Training wheels are newer, he told me. I haven't looked close to see if the tires are original, but I'll say no. All else appears to be.

Good deal at $65, so another bike to work on when I get bored with the others.

Enjoy the photos. I'll look into the serial number on the head tube, but I'm figuring '69 or very early 70's. 🙂

Once I clean the bike up, I'll post it in the For Sale section...Pickup Only, though... 🙂

Apparently, if you place a Banana Seat and Monkey Bars on a Typhoon, you can still sell it as a Stingray

I was wondering about that.
Isn't there some difference in the frame sizes that identifies the two models?
Experts?

Not sure, but I don't think so. I believe that this size frame is the way the Stingray began life.
