I found this Uniroyal 5 speed muscle bike on marketplace today. It was one of those bikes I needed to own! I have never seen any type of Uniroyal bicycle before. She appears to be complete and original paint. On the chain guard it has the Uniroyal Tiger Paw logo. I cannot find any info on a bike branded as a Uniroyal. Does anyone have any info about this bike, other Uniroyal bikes, what year it might be or any original literature? Any and all help is appreciated!

Hey Don! Nice find there!

The bike is made by AMF and badged as Uniroyal. Uniroyal sold at least two bicycle brands I know of badged under thier name, Huffy and AMF. I have seen both brands badged as a Uniroyal.

The bike you have is the same as an AMF Avenger 5-Speed muscle bike. Attached is a picture I found on the net of one. The AMF version looks similar to yours, with the exception of the sissy bar pad. The sissy bar pad was an item made by Troxel in the late 1960's and early 1970's that came stock on some muscle bikes and were offered over the counter as an accessory to add to any bike. Your pad is neat because it is the first one I've ever seen in charcoal color.

Nice acquisition!

the Shimano Lark series of rear derailleurs launched in 1967

in 1971 the improved Shimano Eagle series of rear mechs launched

would expect cycle to have been manufactured between those two dates
