Cruisin' on my Bluebird
Looks like the seat/seat post is fastened to the frame the same way tricycle seat posts were fastened - using a square head bolt. The inner seat post attached to the Troxel seat is probably 7/16" diameter. I'm guessing the bike was made that way so a standard trike seat of the time having an attached post could be used on it.
