I paid 350 for this Flightliner. The chrome is very good but the paint was not original. Probably a bit on the high side but has a 2 speed kickback and zero rust.

I picked up a chrome frame Flightliner a couple years ago with the truss rods and a rack for $60.00 that u threw some wheels and tires on and painted the rack the wrong color, but at least it's together. Yours us really COOOL with the painted chrome frame. RideOn. Mark.

I think a Spaceliner would be a premium over a Flightliner if in similar condition. The unique frame and chain wheel cover are super cool.
This Flightliner example saved from the internet is killer ! If I can stop from dragging in new projects the plan is to get this look with mine :)
thanks for the compliment Mark ! Keep the rubber side down brother

WOW, Those tires just look KILLER on the bike. I've got some ideas for tires on mine. Great looking bike here. Cheers to the owner. RideOn. Mark.

With those big fat tires you can call that the moon rover.

Agreed! I've got one of each... a (mostly) stock Flightliner and a customized Spaceliner (had to work with what was left when I acquired it). Like the man says, Spaceliner frame is really unique. And of course you have the streamlined chain guard with vents, which prevent the chain from melting down during re-entry. Have fun!

The seller had $500 price but went down a whole $50 from that. I know it is not is not a Schwinn and that price seems a little high.
For a lot of collectors (like myself) the fact that it's not a schwinn is not really relevant. There are a lot of bikes (especially middleweights) that I'd prefer over a similarly equipped schwinn. Spaceliners are definitely one of those bikes for a lot of people. It sounds like the one you saw was close to original, well equipped with the springer and rat trap and nicely accessorized top boot. The springer rack might have been factory equipment or add on, one of my closely related Murry build bikes has one that appears to be original. Hard to say without pictures to evaluate, but Id say 500 is on the high end for sure, but not totally outrageous. (At least where I live) From your description I'd probably have to pass on it, but not without some internal debate just because I love em. I'd be thinking bout bikes I could part with to justify the purchase. I would probably sell both of my spaceliners to have it because mine are missing so many important parts.
